BTST (Buy Today, Sell Tomorrow) is a short-term strategy where you buy a stock near the close and sell it the next day, aiming to capture an overnight or next-morning move before the trade is even settled in your demat.
How BTST works
Traders look for stocks closing strong near the day's high on good volume, expecting follow-through the next morning. The position is exited the next day, so it avoids longer-term market risk but is exposed to the overnight gap.
The main risk
The overnight gap cuts both ways — good news gaps you up, bad news gaps you down before you can act. Position sizing and a clear exit plan matter more here than on an intraday trade.
How NSEStocksChart uses it
Our scanner flags BTST-style candidates and tracks how they actually performed, so the idea is judged on recorded next-day outcomes.
