Indian Stock Market Today: NSE Gainers, Nifty Flow

Indian equities saw strong stock-specific action on September 23, 2026, with several NSE names posting gains between 7% and 13%. At the index level, both NIFTY 50 and BANK NIFTY closed with upward direction on option flow, but the flow scores remained in the NOISE zone while radar probabilities leaned heavily toward downside risk for the next 0.5% move.

NSE top gainers today: ARVSMART, ISFT, ARIHANTCAP lead

The standout NSE gainers in the 5-20% band were led by ARVSMART, up 12.76% to close at 645.0. ISFT gained 12.43% to 104.89 and was flagged with a Cup Recovery pattern, described as retesting a prior peak. ARIHANTCAP climbed 11.49% to 90.99 and showed multiple bullish technical signals: Double Bottom with neckline broken, Flat Base Breakout, and Cup Recovery.

Among the other notable movers, AWHCL rose 9.64% to 399.7, ANDREWYU added 8.46% to 28.73, PRECAM gained 7.64% to 126.39, EKC advanced 7.54% to 107.6, and MANBA moved up 7.36% to 147.2. MANBA also carried the same trio of pattern signals as ARIHANTCAP: Double Bottom with neckline broken, Flat Base Breakout, and Cup Recovery.

Pattern-based momentum remained stock-specific

Today’s gainers list shows that pattern confirmation mattered more than broad index conviction. ARIHANTCAP and MANBA both combined three pattern signals at once, while ISFT also featured a Cup Recovery setup. That clustering suggests traders were rewarding specific breakout and recovery structures rather than chasing the market indiscriminately.

In practical terms, the strongest percentage movers were not all large index names, which reinforces a common market theme: when index signals are mixed, alpha often shifts to selective mid-cap and small-cap counters showing clean technical structure.

NIFTY 50 and BANK NIFTY option flow: up direction, but still noise

NIFTY 50 closed at 23446.8 with an option-flow score of 28, classified as NOISE. The directional tag was UP, and the flow skew stood at 20.9%. BANK NIFTY closed at 56548.9 with an option-flow score of 23, also in the NOISE category, with UP direction and a stronger flow skew of 28.4%.

The key interpretation is that both benchmarks showed an upward directional bias in options activity, but the low scores indicate that the signal quality was not strong enough to be treated as high-conviction trend confirmation. In other words, the tape had positive tilt, but not decisive strength.

Index radar probabilities warn of downside skew

The index radar painted a more cautious picture than the direction labels alone. For NIFTY 50, the probability of a +0.5% move was just 5%, versus 59% for a -0.5% move. For BANK NIFTY, the probability of a +0.5% move was 13%, while the probability of a -0.5% move was a much higher 91%.

This divergence matters. Even though option flow direction was UP for both indices, the radar probabilities imply that the next statistically meaningful move has a stronger downside bias, especially in BANK NIFTY. For traders, that is a reminder not to treat a positive directional label as a standalone bullish signal when probability readings are stacked the other way.

Retail trader takeaway: separate stock momentum from index conviction

A useful lesson from today’s market is to separate stock-specific breakouts from index-level confidence. Stocks such as ARIHANTCAP, ISFT, and MANBA showed identifiable recovery or breakout structures and outperformed sharply, while NIFTY 50 and BANK NIFTY option-flow scores remained in NOISE territory.

For retail traders, this means process matters: first identify whether the index backdrop is supportive, neutral, or conflicting; then focus on individual names with confirmed patterns and relative strength. When broad indices show weak conviction but select stocks are breaking out, position sizing and risk control become even more important than usual.
