Indian Stock Market Today: NSE Gainers, Nifty Flow

India’s stock market action on 2026-09-17 saw a strong set of mid- and small-cap movers on the NSE, with TTL, CUBEXTUB, TREL and ALGOQUANT among the standout gainers. Index signals were mixed: Nifty 50 option flow pointed UP but remained in NOISE territory, while Bank Nifty flow pointed DOWN even as its radar probabilities leaned positive for a short-term upside move.

NSE top gainers today: TTL, CUBEXTUB, TREL lead

Among NSE gainers in the 5-20% band, TTL rose 9.42% to close at 7.2 and was flagged for a Cup Recovery pattern, described as retesting a prior peak. CUBEXTUB gained 8.34% to 81.34 with a Flat Base Breakout, while TREL advanced 7.55% to 28.5 with both a Double Bottom (neckline broken) and Flat Base Breakout.

Other notable gainers included IFCI at 80.22, up 6.87%; GRAUWEIL at 78.16, up 6.25%; MOSCHIP at 211.22, up 6.06%; AWHCL at 366.3, up 6.02%; and ALGOQUANT at 67.97, up 5.99%. ALGOQUANT stood out on pattern breadth, showing Double Bottom (neckline broken), Inverse Head & Shoulders, Flat Base Breakout, and Cup Recovery (retesting prior peak).

What today’s option flow says about Nifty 50 and Bank Nifty

NIFTY 50 closed at a spot level of 23270.6. Its option-flow score came in at 33, classified as NOISE, with direction marked UP and a positive flow skew of 17.8%. This suggests a bullish tilt in derivatives positioning, but not a high-conviction one because the score remains in a noisy zone.

BANK NIFTY closed at 56055.8. Its option-flow score was 16, also classified as NOISE, with direction DOWN and flow skew at -3.0%. In practical terms, that points to a weaker directional read than a clean trend signal, with only a mild negative skew rather than strong bearish pressure.

Index radar probabilities: a mixed signal beneath the surface

The NIFTY 50 radar showed P(+0.5% move) at 9% versus P(-0.5%) at 73%. Even though option flow direction was UP, these probabilities imply the index faces materially higher odds of a 0.5% downside move than a similar upside move in the near term.

BANK NIFTY radar painted a different picture. P(+0.5% move) stood at 69% while P(-0.5%) was 35%. That means Bank Nifty’s radar favored upside follow-through despite the day’s option-flow direction being DOWN. For traders, this divergence between flow and radar is a reminder that one indicator alone should not drive a market view.

Retail trader takeaway: focus on confirmation, not just patterns

Today’s biggest gainers featured classic technical structures such as Flat Base Breakout, Double Bottom, Inverse Head & Shoulders, and Cup Recovery. These patterns can help identify improving price structure, but they work best when paired with confirmation such as sustained closes, follow-through, and broader market support.

A useful lesson from today is to avoid overcommitting when index signals conflict. Nifty’s option flow leaned UP while its radar probabilities leaned heavily toward downside, and Bank Nifty showed the reverse mismatch. In such conditions, traders may benefit from smaller position sizing, tighter risk controls, and waiting for cleaner alignment between price action, pattern confirmation, and derivatives data.
